ICMA cosponsored workshop Workshop Description: Increasing concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, stratospheric ozone depletion, and long-term changes of solar and geomagnetic activity can result in long-term changes and trends in the stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere and ionosphere. The workshop will focus on investigations of long-term changes in the Earth's atmosphere and ionosphere and the internal and external sources of such changes, including solar activity and anthropogenic sources. Model interpretation and prediction of trends of greenhouse origin is of high importance as well. The objective of the workshop is to review our current observational and model-simulation knowledge and understanding of trends, and to identify areas of uncertainty that could be addressed via collaborative efforts of the workshop participants. Date:8-12 September 2008 Location: Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), St.Petersburg, Russia Program Committee: Jan Lastovicka (chair), Oleg Troshichev, Gufran Beig, John Emmert, and Martin Jarvis Local Organizing Committee: Oleg Troshichev (chair), A.
